Vintage F.E. Thomas Special 9 1/2′ Bamboo Salmon Rod *Amazing Condition*

Description

Here is an unbelieveable condition vintage 1930’s Thomas Special single hand Salmon rod in near mint condition.

This rod is a 3pc, 2 tip rod, with a very rare factory thumb rest grip, original ferrule plugs, 2 original fighting butts and a screw in rubber button.

Full nickel silver locking slide band reel seat with 1913 patent date stamp. Both fighting butts stamed “32” which likely puts the manufacture date at 1932.

Light tan silk wraps with double wrapped snake guides and an Agate stripping guide.

This is one of the nicest condition vintage Thomas rods I’ve ever had in the shop.

All cork still looks new.  Strut style tip tops on tips.  Aluminum tip tube has nickel plated Thomas cap, collar & bottom comes with original blue cloth tip bag.  Even the tan canvas storage bag still looks new.

Varnish has some light bag marks from sitting that can likely be polished out if desired.

Finding an almost 100 year old rod in a condition like this, with the original ferrule plugs still there is almost impossible to do these days.
