Description
Vintage F.E. Thomas Special. 8 1/2′ 3pc 2 tip, 5 1/8oz rod made for Bob Smith Sporting Goods in 1951.
All sections full length and straight with nice light tips. Downlocking Hardy style locking seat. Should cast a 5wt very nicely.
This nice rod still has the original bag with the original hang tag, and the original brass capped tube.
Rod has had a couple wraps re-done and a few varnish chips here and there, but is very nice and ready to fish!
The original tube is a little banged up, but still fully functional.
Full length rods like this don’t come along very often these days, and even fewer that still have the original hang tag on the bag!
